Quick Fixes for Failing Capacitors

Are you tired of constantly dealing with failed capacitors? Rather than waiting on a capacitor to fail, take the precautionary measures for efficient and effective installation:

  • Overheating is the likely cause of capacitor failure. Go the extra mile to ensure that each capacitor has a bleed resistor in place before installation.
  • Identify the MFD rating needed to guarantee the capacitor is not overworked.
  • Does the capacitor have time to cool between cycles? If a capacitor does not have adequate time to cool down, it is likely that overuse is causing the part to become overheated.
  • Replace the start relay each time the start capacitor is replaced. Although this is not necessary, it is an easy, precautionary measure.
