Step 1: Gather external static pressure, airflow, and temperature measurements in order to locate where the problems lie. By getting these measurements, you will have the ability to tailor the solutions to address the problem directly.
Step 2: After gathering the above measurements, you will have an idea of the of the problems that your customer is experiencing as a result of their air system being tainted. You have the opportunity to gain credibility and ask informed questions about the issues with the home such as high dust levels, expensive bills, and continual equipment problems.
Step 3: After learning the parts of the air system that your customer is displeased with, show them the results of your testing. This opens the door for you to explain to your customer what the root of the problem at hand is. Help the customer understand what is going on and why it is negative.
Step 4: Give the customer ownership in uncovering what the best solution is for their family and their budget. Without assuming what the customer can afford, provide multiple options and timelines on how to fix the problem.
